The Chamber of Deputies of Chile adopted this afternoon the draft education reform presented by the rightist government of Sebastian Pinera, and promoted by the minister, Joaquin Lavin.
The government initiative met its third legislative procedure, after passing through the Constitutional Court will be able to be enacted into law.
Project approval was achieved through a Memorandum of Understanding reached between the government and the “Concertacion” (opposition). After negotiations with the Minister Lavin, and after having made some changes, mostly left-wing opposition chose to support the proposal.
